Bajaj Auto
has
discreetly
released the
Avenger
Cruise 220
in a new
‘Desert
Gold’ colour
option. The
bike is
already
available at
certain
dealerships
and will
retail at Rs
85,497 (ex-
showroom
Delhi), the
same price
as the
standard
Cruise 220.
Some of you might find the colour a bit familiar; This is because its very similar to one of the colours that could be
found on the old Yamaha Enticer when it was still in production.
Commenting on the launch of the new colour range, Mr Eric Vas, President – Motorcycle Business, Bajaj Auto Ltd
said, “The Bajaj Avenger has always been known for its world class styling and unbeatable cruising comfort. The
introduction of the Desert Gold edition offers a remarkable new look for Avenger lovers. This is a unique colour and
we are confident it will generate widespread excitement in the already growing cruiser segment”.
This move by Bajaj Auto is clearly being done to capitalise on the momentum that the latest Avenger series has
gained. The Street and Cruise models have done wonders for Bajaj’s sales figures. The company cumulatively sold
31,000 units of their Avenger bikes in just a month which was well above their target of 9,000 units. Currently, only

whether they will be launching the Street 220 and 150 in new colour schemes as well.

Bajaj looks to be targeting the entry-level cruiser bike segment in India very seriously. Their Avenger Street models
target those bikers who spend a lot of time riding in the city and the Avenger Cruise is a proper long-range cruiser.
Bajaj have also announced that they would be launching a more powerful 375 cc cruiser named Bajaj Avenger 400
in the coming year. This is to directly compete against Royal Enfield in the mid-level cruiser bike segment which has
been completely dominated by the latter in the past years.
After seeing the Avenger Cruise 220 in a brand new colour, we hope Bajaj will afford the same treatment to the
Street variants of their Avenger series. I just hope it’s not the same ‘Desert Gold’ though because that would look
terrible on the Avenger Street.
Which colour do you think will look the best on the Bajaj Avenger Street? Let us know in the comments below.
