Network, network, network! When looking for a job use all of your resources, including both
business and personal contacts. Connect with anyone that is in the field you are in and use resources
like LinkedIn to find other contacts, too. Submitting your resume and application via an inside track
gives you an edge over the many people who submit via the standard practice.
If you are finding it difficult to get a job in a certain field, you may find it helpful to go back to
school. In the meantime, you can get a part-time job to help you survive as you go to school. The
more education you have, the easier it will be for you to get a job.
As an older job seeker, you should only
include the most pertinent of your
experience on your resume. Don't include
more than fifteen years of experience, and
don't give dates. This information can be
provided upon request. You could also
outline more distant experience briefly in
your cover letter or another area of company
set up your resume.
When submitting a resume to a potential
employer, always submit a full resume. A

negative areas of employment is to write the
cover letter in lieu of an actual resume. Most

and will red flag any potential job seeker

Keep on revising your resume. Make sure that there are no spelling or grammatical errors. Double
