Established in 1961, the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA) celebrates it
Golden Jubilee this year. One of the oldest and most recognized management schools in the
country, it is acknowledged globally for excellence in management education and research. It
was the first institute in India to get the EQUIS accreditation.

This year, IIMA was ranked 8th by the Financial Times in the Masters in Management rankings.

                                             Launched in the summer of 2006, the PGPX is a one year, full time Post Graduate Programme
                                             in Management for Executives. PGPX students undergo the rigorous, broad based academic
                                             process IIMA is renowned for. The programme moulds experienced professionals into
                                             managers who fit naturally into middle and senior executive roles. The profile of this batch is
                                             comparable to those at the best business schools across the globe in terms of cross-cultural
                                             work experience, knowledge and depth of experience.

                                             The graduates from the first four batches of this programme have been absorbed enthusiastically

Dear Recruiter,
I am proud to present to you the 86 meritorious professionals that constitute the PGPX class of
2011. These experienced candidates have been carefully selected from a large pool of national
and international applicants on the basis of their academic profiles, analytical abilities and the
quality of their previous work experiences and achievements. The average GMAT score of this
class is 712 with an average total work experience of over 10 years. They have spent an average
of 4 years working internationally in 13 different industries that includes banking, consulting,
information technology, telecommunication, pharmaceuticals, government services and the
armed forces. Their previous roles included general management, project management, HR,
finance, marketing and operations.
Keeping with the tradition of IIMA programmes, PGPX is a highly involved and extremely
rigorous academic programme. It develops the general management capabilities of the
experienced professionals in the class, with a focus on change management and on managing
across borders and cultures. Facilitated by excellent support and commitment from my faculty
colleagues, this unique programme involves more than 650 class hours spread across 50 to 60
core courses and electives. The pedagogy involves case discussions within and across learning
groups, customized function-oriented segments, industry leader interactions, the International
Immersion Programme (IIP) and an industry projects.
 As chairperson of the programme, I am proud of the progress made by the class of 2011. I am
