it, what he plans to do about his
needs, skills he needs to
develop or acquire
3. Assessment Task Information
• The prompt will be given out on the day
• You are expected to write from the perspective of a character from
BILB
• You need to explore a situation that aroused strong emotion in the
character
• Your character needs to reflect on the experience as well as describe
it
4. Letter
• Needs appropriate formatting
• The recipient needs to be clear
• Must show knowledge of the recipient’s life (contextual knowledge)
• Should share a moment of learning or realisation with the recipient
• Provide some idea of a future action that will be taken
5. Journal
• Show a creative ordering of time (e.g. big gaps between entries, lots
of small entries close together) that will make your writing more
engaging to read
• Provide an insight into the emotional world of the character, reevaling
deeply personal information that may not be shared with other
people
• Should reveal a moment of learning or realisation
• Provide some idea of a future action that will be taken
6. Short Story or Descriptive Narrative
• Must create a believable world that is easy to visualise
• Should describe the action of the characters in an interesting way
• Use dialogue sparingly
• Maintain one perspective (e.g. Third Person Controlled
Consciousness)
• Must show some kind of realisation for one of the characters
