The U.S., Vietnam, U.K.,
Australia, Belgium. Japan
and Germany are the major
importers of sesame oil
across the globe.
Sesame seeds contain unique
substances such as sesamin, sesamol
and sesamolin called lignans which have
a high anti-oxidative property and are effective for
lifestyle disease prevention and anti-aging. It was
found that sesamin, a sesame lignan, is absorbed
from the intestine and reaches the liver without
being activated through a blood vessel called
portal vein, and then activated in the liver, where
its excellent anti-oxidative potency inhibits active
oxygen. This is a unique characteristic of sesamin.
