2. I learned creativity can be taught. Having a

creative teacher made me look at PR in a more
creative manner.

3. I learned that the best way to learn public

relations is to become familiar with what’s going
on around me.

4. I learned that a good pr person/firm can control

public reaction to crisis as well as problems
companies and governments may have.

5. I learned that being able to write in proper

fashion is necessary to be a part of the public
relations world.

6. To be an effective pr professional you must do

proper research about your event.

7. I learned that I have to learn more about the new

forms of communications like the internet.

8. Prior to this class I thought someone in public

relations worked with celebrities to create press
and make the public view that celebrity in a
particular manner. I now know public relations is
important to any company and makes sure that
messages get out clearly and properly.

9. I learned what a media kit was and why they

were important.

10. Intro to PR has taught me that I must think

outside the box to get a job. I have to create a
portfolio and think of creative ways to market
myself.

11. I learned how important networking with public

relations professionals and former public
relations student really is. When you take the
time to introduce yourself to people you have a
better opportunity to get advice and connections
for your future.
