1. Question 6: What have you learnt
about technologies from the
process of construction the product
2. Adobe Photoshop:
I used Photoshop to produce my music magazine front
cover. Even though I had already used Photoshop
before it was still very complicated to use. However,
throughout the course of designing and producing my
front cover I became more familiar with it and it got
easier to use.
I knew all the different tools to use on editing the little
things on my front cover such as blending the brick
background or making the central image bigger or
smaller. Getting the right font was easy too because of
all the different styles and colours.
Photoshop became very useful whilst making my front
cover because there are so many different told and
they enable you to do anything you want to your
work.
I am very happy with the quality of my front cover
thanks to the tools of Photoshop.
3. Quark:
I used Quark to produce my contents
page and double page spread.
I had never used it before and found it
very easy to get the hang of once shown
what to do.
The guide’s provided were most helpful
because it made everything straight
such as my content, images and article.
A downside to using Quark would be not
being able to re-size the images you add.
I had to edit the sizes of my images in
Photoshop before importing them into
Quark and this took up valuable time.
Overall I am happy with my finished
contents page and double page spread
thanks to Quark.
4. Blogger:
When first introduced to Blogger I didn’t really like it. This was because I had
never used it before and didn’t understand the concept of adding my different
blogs. It was difficult making sure things were in the right order.
However, after a couple of weeks into using Blogger it became more and more
easy to use and It became very handy for adding all my finished work.
Being able to upload all my complete piece of the coursework onto Blogger is very
handy because it means I can access the work from any computer as long as
internet is available which was useful when having to do work from home as well
as in school.
5. Premier Pro:
I used Premier Pro to add a title clip over my
audio clips such as my first questionnaire
results.
I had used Premier Pro once before but
couldn’t remember what to do. Once shown
how to do it, it became very easy and was a
good turn out.
6. Video Camera:
I used a video camera when filming somebody filling out my
complete magazine analysis questionnaire.
I have used video cameras in the past for small projects so I
found it very easy to use the camera for this small task.
Linking the camera up to the computer and getting the video
on to blogger was also very straight forward because you just
add it on to your blog.
7. Voice Recorder:
I used a voice recorder to record my audience feedback,
questionnaire results and article research.
I found using a voice recorder very easy as there are only about 2 or
3 main buttons on it and then linking it up to the computer and
transferring the sound clip is easy.
This voice recorder came in handy for recording simple research so I
could add it onto my blog.
8. Camera:
I used a professional camera to take all the images for my
music magazine.
Using a professional camera is easy as they are the same
as regular cameras and I use them all the time.
It enabled me to take millions of different photo’s from
different angles in different lighting. I then added my
images onto the computer and looked through all the
different once to then decide which was the best for my
front cover, contents page and double page spread.
9. Prezi:
I used Prezi to present different parts of my work and
then uploaded them to Blogger.
I had never used Prezi before but I didn’t find it hard
to use at all, it is very straight forward.
On Prezi I was able to make my work fun and look big,
bold and colourful.
There are many different fonts and colours to choose
from, shapes to outline titles, arrows to guide such as
a spider diagram and I was also able to add images of
my music magazine and also professional magazines
when needed to compare my work.
10. Extranormal:
I used Extranormal to help answer some of my evaluation.
I had never ever used it before and did not understand it
at first. However, after playing around with it for a while I
got use to it.
It became very fun because there are so many different
voices, backgrounds and characters to choose from.
I think using Extranormal was a really fun was of doing my
evaluation and I would definitely use it again.
11. iMovie:
I used iMovie to create a film like clip. I added my
audio clip onto the film line and then was able to add
in text and images of my magazine.
I had never used iMovie before and found it very easy
and useful.
12. Youtube:
I used Youtube to take some indie music clips and add
them onto my blog to show what my target audience
would listen to. This is very helpful as it shown how
everything links up to my magazine perfectly.
I also used Youtube to upload my iMovie sound clip
onto blogger which is useful.
