Proposed Route 96 tram terminus
In 2013, Council endorsed an island platform design for the Route 96 tram terminus. After carrying out further design work with
Public TransportVictoria andYarra Trams, Council is proposing a modified tram terminus design to provide more footpath space on
Acland Street.
Below: the proposed design for the tram terminus features two platforms with the tram tracks lowered gradually along the middle of
the street from Barkly Street. This allows the tram platforms to be level with the footpaths. It also provides an additional 330m2 of
footpath space compared to the island platform option and makes the street more accessible.
