“Knowledge is power.”
Is it really?

Imagine for a moment that
you are the leader of your
company, department or
even a government.

You gather all your people and
appropriate all the knowledge
you can possibly get your
hands on that pertains to the
decision you must make...
@TheDovBaron
Now, having gathered all
that knowledge; what do
you have?
@TheDovBaron
According to the knowledge
is power theory, you now have
power.  While in truth you and I
know that what you really have is
a pile of knowledge.

Leaders, real leaders who follow
the C.O.R.E. Affluence System
of Leadership understand that
knowledge alone is not power.
@TheDovBaron
As I’m sure you’ve noticed we
live in the information age.
Don’t get me wrong; this access
is information is wonderful.
@TheDovBaron
At the same time what I see
is an even great propensity
toward inaction and
procrastination.
@TheDovBaron
All these people with all this
knowledge and so many
of them are sitting around
waiting… for something.
@TheDovBaron
What it all boils down to is this: Most people
are afraid to take action because they are
afraid they don’t have enough information
and as a result they do nothing, telling
themselves that when they get that right
piece of information they will forge ahead.

Let’s face facts.  Knowledge has
become the new magic wand – get
enough of it and poof! everything works.
But we all know that’s just not true! It’s
just another level of magical thinking.
@TheDovBaron
Information/knowledge is obviously
important. In fact it is the first “I” in the three
“I”s of masterful leadership. However,
information on its own often is nothing
more than mental masturbation for the
ego. It’s a way of bragging that “my info is
bigger than yours.”

What’s needed is the
second “I” of masterful
leadership:
“Implementation.”
