With the world gone digital, the development in electronics is a constant in all dynamism, Exploring how some of the top colleges in India are being the change.
1. Electronics Engineering in India
Welcome aboard the world of electronics which has completely changed the way we look at life and feel
too maybe! We are living in a well connected digital world powered by the sophistication and
advancement of electronics. I bet you will have much difficulty in trying to think of a device which
doesn’t use any part of electronics than trying to think of a device which does use.
Right from television to computers, tablets, phones, fridges, home appliances like vaccum cleaner, fan,
mixer, microwave oven etc. – all rely on the power of electronics.
Apart from these everyday gadgets which we see constantly, the equipments used in hospitals, military,
aircrafts and what not – these all work because of electronics.
As Prime Minister Narendra Modi is pitching the world to manufacture the stuffs in India through his
“Make in India” campaign, it is obvious for current and about-to-graduate electronics engineer to focus on
innovation. The next generation of electronics equipments are required to be small (in size), highly
efficient with great risk and failure tolerance ability. Engineers will be required to work in teams to
brainstorm the idea, product, test, calibrate and launch the next generation of devices in all segments i.e.
from home appliances to military and hospital equipments, telecommunication etc.
It might sound generic but the most important requirement of the next generation of electronics engineers
are to be inventive, creative, ability to think outside the box, exceptional Mathematics and logical
reasoning abilities apart from obviously sound communication skills and knowledge of team dynamics.
To become an electronics engineer, one needs to have Bachelor’s in Engineering or Bachelor’s in
Technology in Electronics. It’s a four years full time course offered at most of the engineering colleges.
The diploma version is a three year long course offered at leading polytechnics. Admissions take place by
the means of entrance exam. You need to have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as the core subject
areas in finishing school / college examinations. And then be all set to appear for the entrance
examinations as applicable (according to the college).
My pan-India visits to meet prospective and current students, faculty members and parents have allowed
me in discovering severalleading colleges which are providing cutting-edge curriculum in electronics
engineering. The most interesting time was spent in Maharashtra where I visited top engineering colleges
in Nashik, Pune and Mumbai. These top colleges ofMaharashtra are ranked and respected. I had an
opportunity to talk in great detail with the current students and faculty members plus the support staffs.
With international quality infrastructure, doctorate faculty members who have extensive research
expertise, numerous patents, selective and high quality student body in the classroom and very
importantly – a curriculum designed in consultation with Fortune 500 firm’s requirements and keeping in
mind the streak of innovative thinking, technical & leadership capabilities have been brought into the
limelight. This is the best engineering colleges in India is redefining the way teaching and learning is
currently offered in India. What I also really liked is the huge focus and commitment on building strong
links with recruiters which has resulted in paid internships and hundred percent placement of graduating
students with India’s well known employers.
I invite and encourage students to wake-up and start exploring the options for them. With the change in
the world, they need to go for cutting edge programs in order to be industry-ready. Remember that what
worked yesterday will not work today because times have just changed very rapidly.
2. So, get up and get moving towards getting yourself admitted at the top institution to make your dream a
reality.
Welcome aboard once again. Wish you all the very best.
