Documentary techniques

2. Reenactments – This is when an event or
video is recreated by different people.
Interviews – When the documentary
maker asks a relevant person questions
that relate to the documentary story.
Narration – The voice used over the top
of footage, usually describing what is
happening within the clip
Stock Footage – Footage from previous
events that has been found in archives
and reused
3. Music – Usually an instrumental backing
track that gives the documentary a little
more depth.
Sound Effects – Sounds that are used to
represent something else.
Montage – a series of still or moving
images that are edited together, most of
the time used to represent the change in
time.
