This paper provides a review on crowdfunding in order to identify the state of art in the literature. The review was carried out using Scopus and Web of Science databases from 1960 to 2014. A total of twenty-nine papers were selected and analyzed. The content analysis of the papers highlights a research gap which allows to identify a research question regarding the existing business models supporting the process of crowdfunding. In order to provide an answer to this research question, this paper proposes a taxonomy of crowdfunding business models according to three types of motivations driving people to fund a project: social motivation, material motivation and financial motivation. This taxonomy offers to large firms and also to small and medium enterprises the opportunity to identify a set of business models that can be used to obtain funds and finance their projects.

This paper provides a comprehensive overview of the history of engineering management and clearly shows the various phases, both at national and international level, that finally culminated in the commencement of a graduate degree program in engineering management at the University of Naples Federico II and its subsequent evolution to entrepreneurial engineering. Nowadays, the relevance and the strategic importance of engineering skills in the development of innovative businesses and organizations motivates the investigation of the role of the engineer in society. The new figure of the engineer-entrepreneur is so complex and multi-dimensional that it becomes very important to collect contributions of literature from distant areas of investigation not strictly related.

Guidelines for writing a literature review applied to the topic of Knowledge Management in SMEs.
This paper provides a systematic review of the literature on knowledge management (KM) in small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and SME networks. The main objective is to highlight the state-of-the-art of KM from the management point of view in order to identify relevant research gaps. The review highlights that in recent years the trend of papers on the topic is growing and involves a variety of approaches, methodologies and models from different research areas. The vast majority of papers analysed focus on the topic of KM in the SME while there are only few papers analysing KM in networks populated by SMEs. The content analysis of the papers highlights six areas of investigation from which were derived ten research questions concerning three perspectives: the factors affecting KM; the impact of KM on firm’s performance; the knowledge management systems.

The realm of product design is a constantly changing environment where technology and style intersect. Every year introduces fresh challenges and exciting trends that mold the future of this captivating art form. In this piece, we delve into the significant trends set to influence the look and functionality of product design in the year 2024.
How Race, Age and Gender Shape Attitudes Towards Mental HealthThinkNow
Mental health has been in the news quite a bit lately. Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying it’s good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation that’s least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state they’re comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).

Income Limits: Applicants must meet income guidelines, which vary by region and household size.
Primary Residence: The home must be used as the borrower's primary residence.

Summarising the above contributions, our innovative literature review process is organised
into 2 main phases that in their turn are divided into two steps:
1) Phase of papers selection:
a. Material comprehensive search. This step includes the identification of key
words, construction of search strings, choice of databases to be investigated
(Scopus, Web of Science, etc.), review of the databases using the search strings;
b. Selection of papers to be analysed in detail. This step includes the definition of
criteria for inclusion/exclusion and the process of selection according to the
criteria of inclusion/exclusion;
2) Phase of descriptive and content analysis of the selected papers:
a. Descriptive analysis. The papers are aggregated according to different
perspectives to give a summary view of the selected papers;
b. Content analysis. Papers are reviewed and studied in deep. The analysis of papers
highlights strengths and weaknesses in the literature, evidences research gaps and
identifies appropriate research questions to be investigated.

11. Conclusions
• In order to provide an answer to the research question this paper presents a
taxonomy of nine crowdfunding business models: donation crowdfunding,
reward crowdfunding, pre-sales crowdfunding, social lending crowdfunding,
revenue sharing crowdfunding, equity crowdfunding, peer-to-peer lending
crowdfunding, lending crowdfunding, hybrid models.
• This taxonomy offers to large firms and also to small and medium enterprises
the opportunity to identify a set of business models that can be used to obtain
funds by the crowd. In fact, nowadays firms have increasingly access to new
crowdfunding platforms which are easy to use and do not need significant
investments.
• This has allowed the reduction of the barriers that hindered both the crowd to
fund firms and the firms to be funded by the crowd.

The revolution of crowdfunding in social
knowledge economy
Editor's Notes
Hello everybody, I’m Roberto Cerchione and I’m a PHD Student of the University of Napoli Federico II. The title of my presentation is «Knowledge Management in Supply Chain: a literature review»
Finally the third criterion is related to the focus of the article. For this purpose articles were read in full by two researchers. The phase of in-depth reading has allowed us to identify 9 articles that were not focused on the research topic. Therefore the articles analysed in the subsequent phase of descriptive analysis will be 52.
The review of existing literature has shown an increasing interest in the application of knowledge management principles in supply chain. This is mainly due to the flexible and fragmented nature of many industry sectors and the fragmented knowledge across an increasingly complex supply chain (Marra et al., 2012). After a short introduction about the background of our literature review, first I will focus on the methodology and the different phases that have characterized the research process: the material comprehensive search, definition of criteria for articles selection, descriptive analysis and content analysis.
Then, as a consequence of the review process I will illustrate the state of the art, literature gaps identified, and future research directions.
Finally the formulation of the research questions included in my PhD research design will be presented.
The main aim of this paper is to provide an overview of knowledge management in the field of supply chain. Literature reviews may have several objectives. In the context of this research, the literature review has two main objectives. The first is to summarise existing research in the field of investigation and identify relevant patterns, issues and themes. The second consists in providing a comprehensive description of relevant research contributions in the field covering their strengths and weaknesses. As result, the achievement of the above two objectives allows to identify research gaps as well as define appropriate research questions to be address through empirical research.

Articles based on quantitative methods are divided into 25 surveys, 2 mathematical models, 3 simulation models. Regarding data collection surveys are conducted in many different modes, including e-mail (16), online form (4), face-to-face (3) and telephone (2). The low percentage of face-to-face mode identifies a significant literature gap for a qualitative topic as knowledge management in supply chain.
According to the articles distribution over time (Figure 1), ten of the selected articles were published in 2009. Then a significant percentage of articles belongs to the years 2012 and 2014 with 7 articles. It should be noted that despite the research is limited to the first six months of the current year, the number of selected articles for the year 2014 is relevant.
Specifically there are 6 articles written from 2000 to 2004, 19 articles from 2005 to 2009, 26 articles from 2010 to June 2014. The trend of scientific papers on this topic is therefore growing in recent years.
Many journals that deal with different areas (management, marketing, logistics, manufacturing, etc.) have published articles related to the topic investigated.
In the present case, therefore, it was not possible univocally classify articles for subject area, as the topic is often treated in a multidisciplinary way.
Using the functionalities provided by the platform SCImago Journal Rank (SJR) journals selected belong to nine different macro area (Table 4): Agricultural and Biological Sciences, Business, Management and Accounting, Decision Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, Social Sciences, Economics, Econometrics and Finance, Environmental Science, Materials Science.
There are only a few journals closely related to the topic of Supply Chain Management and the presence in journals with a focus on innovation, processes, operational research and marketing demonstrates that this is a multidisciplinary topic.
In relation to research methodology adopted, the vast majority of articles are based on quantitative methodologies, with few papers using qualitative (e.g. case studies), conceptual, mixed methodologies or literature review approaches (Figure 2).
According to our classification we can identify some gaps in the literature. The articles belonging to factors affecting KM within supply chain focus particularly on the relational factors. Only two articles concern the managerial factors using a quantitative methodology and similarly for the impact of KM on performance of the entire supply chain, for KMS in supply chain and for models for the analysis of KM within supply chain. The two articles on the barriers of Knowledge Management in the supply chain use a mixed approach (literature review and focus groups) so none of them uses a quantitative approach. So there is a need to explore and deepen certain topic through the use of quantitative methods, such as survey. The articles on the critical success factors and having as their object of study the entire supply chain are only two: the first is related to the managerial factors while the second to industry-specific factors . There is no article that analyzes the influence of relational factors on knowledge management throughout the supply chain. The two articles on the barriers deal with the issue considering the entire supply chain. Regarding the relationship that exists between Knowledge Management and performance, 5 articles focus on business performance, and only three articles (out of a total of 18 related to the impact of KM on performance) have as their object the performance of the entire supply chain. There is only one article, out of a total of six articles included in the first level category of first level, concerning knowledge management systems that can be used across the entire supply chain. Finally, half of the articles (3 out of 6) that analyze models for the analysis of KM within supply chain refers to the customer-supplier relationship.
Therefore, although the articles and reviews selected refer to the supply chain, only few of them have as their object of study the entire supply chain.
