Rising And Shining With Sxsw

 1. 1. Rising and Shining with SXSW
March 19, 2010 · 1 Comment
Earlier this morning The Bayou Lounge showcased bands with different looks, backgrounds, locations and sounds. Most were here for the very first time. Nonetheless, many of them have already been exposed to the music scene and have had numerous accomplishments.
The Colourist from Orange County, California are new to the band scene, being together for only a year and were voted Best New Artist of 2009 by the Orange County Weekly. Check out The Colourist band page. Props to the female drummer – she rocked the house!
Frank and Derol, a young energetic duo from LA, traveled over 20 hours by van to expose themselves to the SXSW fans. Members include lead singer Codi Caraco and guitarist/singer Brandi Cyrus -sister of Miley Cyrus. These down-to-earth girls spoke to us about their musical journey so far.
Emii has been singing since she was two years old and gave us a preview of her new single Magic.
We also ran into Wil Seabrook who will also be performing during the festival.
The showcase was a benefit for Invisible Children. SXSW is not just about music, it is also about raising awareness for those in need.
Be sure to check out our blog on more free parties. SXSW is almost over, don’t miss out on all the free fun.
News 8 Interns
