3. 1. The dog in the pictures is named Lucy. She is
super sweet and patient.
2. She never moved or twitched when I was clipping
her nails which made my job so much easier.
3. Clipping a dogs nails (even on the sweetest, most
patient of dogs) is very difficult.
4. If you cut it too close, the dog bleeds and it hurts
them. If you do not get it close enough then they
continue to have their long nails.
5. It was a little too difficult for me so they switched
me to bathing!

6. 1. I had so much fun with this activity. In fact, I stayed there the rest
of the time.
2. The big dog is named Bubz. He was super easy to bathe. He just
stood there, I think he even liked it!
3. I learned that there is a secret to getting big dogs like Bubz into
the standing dog bath, the front wall opens on the side and it lets
down a ramp for the dogs to walk up on! I thought that was
really neat.
4. The smaller dog was Rascal. He was a bit more difficult. He
would shake a lot and tried to get out.
5. This is when I learned about why they have a short leash
attached to them and the wall. It is to prevent them from jumping
out. However, this means a dog can NEVER be alone because if
he or she still tries, they could accidently hang themselves.
7. Overall I had such a great time. It really was
rewarding and fun at the same time. My
favorite part was bathing the dogs, especially
my new friend Bubz. He might have been my
favorite, even though all of the dogs were
awesome.
I was told a few hours later that one of the dogs
I helped bath (not pictured) was adopted! I
thought that was such great news and I’m
happy for the family that got him!
