Nancy asks…
Christian reasons why christians should get married in a church?
My Re homeowrk, just wanted to hear other reasons.
Blissful Relationship answers:
Christians believe that marriage is a gift from God, one that should not be taken for granted.
Anglicans, Catholics, and Eastern Orthodox church term marriage as “holy matrimony” and is
an expression of divine grace. In Western Christians the sacrament of marriage is similar to the
relationship between Christ and the Church. In Protestant denominations the primary purpose of
marriage to be to glorify God by demonstrating his love to the world. As you can see, being
married in a church is important to most Christians because it is more than just a ceremony
between two people.
From a Catholic point of view, the real reason to get married in the Church isn’t the wedding,
it’s the marriage. A Christian marriage is a sacrament that makes God’s grace present. And
nothing about the sacrament requires emptying the bank account. Think of all the difficulties that
marriages face these days. God wants to empower us to have a happy and holy marriage. He
wants us to be delivered from the evils of divorce, to raise our children well, and to flourish as a
family. God gives us his grace to do all these things in the sacrament of Matrimony (marriage).
By grace, God transforms us so that we are able to love as He loves.

2. In fact, in the sacrament of Matrimony a groom starts off marriage by ministering God’s grace
to his bride, as she ministers to him. That is because “the spouses as ministers of Christ’s
grace mutually confer upon each other the sacrament of Matrimony by expressing their consent
before the Church.” The priest is the witness; the spouses are the ministers of the sacrament.
That moment is the beginning of a flood of grace that Jesus wants to pour out upon the
spouses.
“Christ dwells with them, gives them the strength to take up their crosses and so follow him, to
rise again after they have fallen, to forgive one another, to bear one another’s burdens, to ‘be
subject to one another out of reverence for Christ’ (Ephesians 5:21), and to love one another
with supernatural, tender, & fruitful love.”
(This can apply to other christian church marriages as well. It can be considered as a
commitment ceremony between the couple and the Lord.)
Betty asks…
Christians, is getting pregnant is a reason to get married? non
Christians opinions r welcome?
I am a Christian, but I am also a realist and I think a person shouldn’t make two mistakes just
because they made one with an unplanned pregnancy. I say this because the person getting
married doesn’t get a long with his girlfriend and has moved out of her house 3 times in a year.
Now he thinks he must “fix the issue of her pregnancy by marrying her. What are your
thoughts?

3. Blissful Relationship answers:
Umm…i dunno. Personally, i do whatever i want. I get yelled at by my in-laws (my parent’s don’t
give a sh*t) and people at my church for breaking the rules. In my religion, there’s no
contraceptives, and abstinence until marriage.
So yeah, i was never in that situation. I would say, if you love each other get married, if not,
don’t. Do what you think is right, not what everyone else tells you is right.
Jenny asks…
Is procreating children the only reason for Christians to get
married? If not what other reasons are there?
I’m asking because repeatedly Christians have told me that they oppose same-gender
marriage because a gay couple cannot produce a child of their own.
Fireball, I’ll thank you to keep your eyeballs above my belt.
EEEEWWWOOOOYUUUUCKK!
Blissful Relationship answers:
I don’t think that same-gender marriage is worth opposing, but if I did it would be because the
Bible calls it an abomination.

Helen asks…
Atheists will you review my list of reasons why gays shouldn’t be
able to get married (Christian perspective)?
I’m so sad with myself.
Blissful Relationship answers:
Certainly.
Review 1: This is irrelevant.
Review 2: This is not a list.

5. Sandra asks…
Christians what are good reasons to get married? .. what are the
right motivations?
Why should people get married? Should it be because they fall in love, and want to spend their
lives together? Is it seen as just the right way to do relationships, and to help people stay pure
by having a partner, rather than being burnt up by desire. Or should they be married because
they feel they can serve God better together? Is there a risk of people marrying on attraction,
but not really being the right match? Surely this shouldn’t drive a Chrisitan marriage?
Basically what should the reasons for marriage be based upon, Biblically?
Blissful Relationship answers:
- Even as a Christian I must say Good luck, pray about it alot especially after . . .
