April 15, 2013 true. There are tens of thousand of people trying to find work in Canada as a Nanny or Caregiver. That
said; It would be wise to have the upper hand, which is why I've put together these 6 resources for you.
1. The Ultimate Resume (CV) Resumes are still the most used method of filtering applicants for a job, and you want to
make sure your is incredible. This 'Resume (CV) Maker' is a Free online Resume Builder that when I first saw it, was
blown away by it ease and result.
2. Cover Your Resume: The Cover Letter After finding such an amazing CV Builder, I spent some time looking for
something similar for Cover Letters. Although it took a bit of digging, I did find one that is very nice. 'Cover-Letter-Now'
is also a free online builder with equal ease and results as the Resume Builder above.
3. Get Certified You may have experience as a Nanny or Caregiver, but getting credentials from an International
Organzation may be help. It's not required, but the cost is about $50, and very worth it, if you have the cash to spare.
Again, this is not required, but very helpful. My recommendation is the INA's 'Nanny Credential Exam'.
4. Be Aware of Salary Expectations As a Nanny, you want to be sure that you are compensated fairly, and this guide
from the INA is quite helpful as a general rule. View the '2012 International Nanny Association Salary and Benefits
Survey'.
5. Live-in Caregivers In Canada Program This may very well be the way in which you are coming to work in Canada. If
so, you will want to be up-to-date and fully understand this program and its processes. View the 'Processing Live-in
Caregivers In Canada Guide'.
6. Sample Nanny-Family Employment Agreement Last but not least in today's list of help is the Employment Agreement
(or Contract). Understanding these is critical before you have the job. Be sure to read it carefully, and when you are
about to work in Canada, read it again before signing! Here's a sample to get an idea: Sample Nanny-Family
