OUR MISSION
We are a successful employment program dedicated to
reducing the number of children living in poverty by helping
low-income women, primarily single moms, build better
futures for themselves and their children through long-term
successful employment!
Our Purpose
Women seeking our services typically
want a better quality of life, but lack the
training, confidence and positive work
experience necessary to obtain and
maintain employment. Our unique
employment approach helps low-
income women develop the tools,
knowledge and self-confidence
necessary to compete for better jobs,
seek raises and promotions, and
become financially self-sufficient.
Kayleen Simmons
Executive Director/Founder
Kayleen has extensive experience in
program and curriculum development,
non-profit management, personal
development, leadership, and life
management training. Ms. Simmons is an
author, seminar presenter, and private
consultant for individuals and
corporations. As an adjunct professor at
Salt Lake Community College, she has
specialized in courses on leadership and
History: For the past 20 years,
People Helping People (PHP)
has worked to change the lives
of many families across the
Wasatch Front. We are
dedicated to helping low-
income women and single
moms reach their full potential
in the work place. Since 1993,
PHP has provided extensive
employment services to low-
income women, effectively
leveraged resources through
volunteer and community
collaboration and positively
impacted our community.
Program History
Highlights
With the expansion of the program into Weber & Utah counties in 2002, PHP has
experienced considerable growth.
-Collaborated with over 200
community and government agencies
to create community awareness to over
24,000 women.
-Mailed monthly employment
newsletters & made weekly outreach
calls to over 9,525 women
-Educated over 4,186 women
-partnered with over 1,025 mentors
and coaches
-Recruited and managed over
$2,145,000 in volunteer hours
-Saved taxpayers over $20,930,000 by
reducing the need for government,
church, and community assistance.
Business professionals donate
approximately 4800 volunteer hours to
PHP each year!
Approximately 60 local business
professionals
serve as volunteer mentors, coaches and
trainers in our Employment Program.

They an essential program role as a
coach, mentor, or training facilitator.
.Organization: Volunteer work is
clear, concise and well organized. Time spent
is highly productive.
.Flexibility: Volunteers work with clients at a

their professional growth.

Volunteers
Through volunteering with PHP, I see women getting the
knowledge base and the chances that they wouldn’t have
had, had they not learned about this program. I love
knowing that my involvement with PHP is not just helping
women become employed or better employed—but we
are also leading by example for the next generation.
