: The sin problem that began in the Garden of Eden with two people spread to infect the entire world. In Genesis 6:5 God states “that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” He regretted having made man. This state of evil required the most extreme of measures – a flood to wipe out all of mankind. However, in Gen. 6:8 we read, “And Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD.” Once again, we see that God has a redemptive plan that will preserve a righteous remnant. In a context of far-reaching judgment, God’s grace shines upon the family of Noah. The Apostle Paul describes the very same contrast in Romans 6:23 which tells us that “the wages of sin is death but the free gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord.”
