Symptomatic stones during pregnancy occur     

at a rate of 1/250 to 1/3000 pregnant women   



White women > African american women

The majority of symptomatic stones occur in the
second and thrid trimesters of pregnancy
Up to %25 of women are misdiagnosed with
appendicitis, diverticulitis or placenental
abruption
increased risk of premature rupture of
membranes in association with stone passage
although most stones pass spontaneously and
complications are rare
