    • redmine-lite A lightweight, easy-to-install fork of Redmine 1.0.3-stable. Mike Leone Panoptic Development, Inc 23 Mar 2011
    • What's redmine?
      • Open source, web-based issue- and task-tracking software
      • Built on Rails.
      • Recently, some of the redmine dev team forked it to create ChiliProject.
      • I haven't looked into ChiliProject yet.
    • So, what is It?
      • It's a packaged redmine configuration w/ smart defaults
      • Install and deploy in about three minutes
      • You get:
        • Bundler/RVM integration
        • One single setup command
        • Sqlite database
        • Free Gmail SMTP server for email notifications
        • Ruby 1.8.6
        • Thin web server
    • Why?
      • Born from experience with enterprise clients.
        • No issue-tracking process in place.
        • Couldn't host externally due to IT policies.
        • Couldn't interface with clients' SMTP server.
        • Couldn't provision a server with root access in a reasonable amount of time.
      • If you spend two hours setting up issue-tracking software, that could have paid for YEARS of managed hosting!
    • What doesn't it do? (i.e. things you'd have to set up yourself if you wanted them)
      • Database backups
      • Failover, redundancy
      • Process monitoring
      • Automatic init on boot
    • Live Demo!
      • Let's do this.
