3. MARKET WRAP
Nifty and Sensex were closed green; up 0.55%, 0.53% resp. this week.
New Home Sales 411k and US Unemployment Claim at 357K.
Euro markets were red; while Asian & U.S. markets were green last week.
Indian equity markets ended green on Friday; on this week the Sensex and Nifty
were in bearish trend. Major sector which were down like Banking Index, Power Sec., Realty
Sec. and Top looser are Hdil (down 17.76%), Mmtc (down 24.57%), Torrent (down 13.59%),
Rel. Infra (down 1814.37%) R Power (down 10.99%), Rel. Cap (down 8.44%), Adani Ent.
(down 8.33%) and Future Retail (down 8.11%) Technically Nifty may expected to up from this
point or a short term range bound movement this week; Nifty this week may range 5550-5960.
The news added to the already bearish mode that the impact of the recent reforms
government to boost growth, CII Business Confidence Index, which had slipped below the 50
level mark in the 3rd quarter of the current fiscal, rose to 51.3 in the final quarter. Majority of
the respondents is corruption, persisting inflation, and threat to continuation of reform
process, interest rates and political uncertainty as the major concerns. Expect GDP growth to
come in a range of 5.0-5.5% for 12-13 as compared to the advance estimates of 5.0%.
The S&P 500 cover in last days of week, as the Federal Reserve reassured investors that it
would keep supporting the economy The major world indices showed this week a bullish
trend, with the Dow Jones down nearly by 0.40 percent, and the Nasdaq Composite Index
gain 0.69 percent to end at 3267.52. The Indian rupee grow for the first session in three on
Friday, tracking losses in local shares and weighed down by oil importers' dollar demand,
ending a volatile week largely flat.
