  2. 2. His farmscapes had rolling hills, fluffy trees, and country roads.
  3. 3. His landscapes appear still and silent.
  4. 4. Grant Wood used geometric shapes, ovals, circles andcurves in his landscapes. The shapes were simplified and stylized.
  5. 5. By layering the land he created a lot of distance in his landscapes.
  6. 6. Grant Wood’s style of painting was calledRegionalism which means the painting of American subjects specific to a region.
  7. 7. Grant Wood studied in Europe but cameback to Iowa because “all my really good ideas came to me while milking a cow.”
