• Introduce Nova Scotians to the concept of “Collective Impact.”
• Outline conditions of Collective Impact: Common agenda, shared
measurement, mutually reinforcing activities by stakeholders,
continuous communication, backbone support.
• Key principles:
• Common understanding of the problem(s); Shared vision for
change
• Rather than seeking to take credit, encourage sharing of credit.
• Instead of seeking a silver bullet solution, apply silver buckshot

• Maximizing networks to mobilize change:
• Reinforce the importance of utilizing networks that
already exist among stakeholders, sectors and
communities
• Provide solid examples of how leaders are using
their networks and mobilizing now, with results in
their sectors/communities, in the various six areas of
focus
• Outline models and tactics to expand and “connect”
existing networks
