1. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product? The only piece of
software I used in creating and innovating my product, was Adobe Photoshop, either the CS3 version or the
CS6 version. At the beginning of the project I found using the piece of software to be very difficult thus why I
postponed the making of my project to only recently. However, realising I had to begin the making process,
shortly after doing so my confidence in using the software increased and I began to enjoy using it. I soon found
it of ease to create intricately designed conventionssuch as my plug. I designed it so that it would resemble
that of a partially peeled off sticker. My favourite feature of my product for me is the grunge textures I have
created throughout which consist on all three of the pages. Simply by using the paint brush with a particular
brush type, I was able to design and create many different compositions of texture and degrees of saturation
on the page. I was able to alter the saturation of the textures via the use of the opacity level.Another thing I
have learned about the using of Photoshop is that it can be used to manipulate and enhance imagery in many
senses. By this I refer to the elimination of bad complexity, so spots and scars etcetera and also a simple
enhancing of colour and light levels etcetera. In almost all of the images I used camera raw to enhance the
overall appearance of the photograph. Much of the time when using camera raw I used it in order to create an
atmosphere. Here I refer to all of the main images on each of the pages as they have all been de-saturated
partially to create a dull atmosphere,one relating to the nature of the article that I wrote on my double page
spread which consisted of content that referred to depression and apathy. So it would make little sense to
display a vibrant colour scheme in advertising the article as the two, a vibrant colour and a depressing topic,
juxtapose each other. Other features I enhanced and manipulated where that of some of the conventions I
displayed on my product, for instance, my masthead which I implemented intricate detail into and designed
carefully in order to further initially please the audience, the fundamental feature on a magazinewhich often
contributes to the sale. Thus the manipulation and enhancing of features and conventions like the masthead
are in most cases of great importance. Referring to the my final topic I have chosen with in this question, I
believe that I have adequately used the like of Slideshare, Microsoft word and this here Prezi, to present my
work in an informative and creative way showing off the way in which I know how to use varied media
techniques. I found tools such as Slideshare to be very useful as it allowed me to display a Microsoft word
document and the likes of PowerPoint presentationson to my blog with ease in a sophisticated and elegant
way thus allowing me to show off some of the skills to my knowledge like for example, participating in a focus
group or discussing the positives and negatives of questionnaires etcetera. And the likes of Microsoft word and
Prezi allowed me to display and deliver my knowledge in a sophisticated way thus making my knowledge of
media techniques and so on to be conveyed with elegancy and ease. Aside from all of these, the most
important tool/website I used was WordPress, of course the medium of greater importance allowing me to
use it as aportfolio to show off all that I have learned within the course. I have learned also that a blog website
does not have to only be something that is used for recreational reasons, but for ones in the sense of
education and qualifications. My favoured skills, concluding, that I have obtained throughout the project, are
that of those that I have learned on Photoshop and the exploiting of the use of a blog which I did not know
how to use nor did I know what it was before the beginning of this project. However my preference lies with
the skill of Photoshop I have attained as this has made me thinkthat graphic design is something I may want to
do as career one day as I very much enjoyed using and experimenting with Photoshop and the outcome I
achieved in the end. I also am now, subject to the completion of this project, am using Photoshop
recreationally in creating my own posters and in creating art. I truly do appreciate the skills I have learned
throughout the course of this project and the creation of my media products.
