2. VA’s Strategy to Eliminate Homelessness Among Veterans VA’s goal is to ensure that all eligible homeless and at-risk Veterans have easy access to appropriate programs and services. Veterans in need of services, whether at a Medical Center, a Regional Office, or a Community Organization, will receive assistance in accessing, housing, supportive services and treatment. Built upon 6 strategic elements: Outreach/Education, Treatment, Prevention, Housing/Supportive Services, Income/Employment/Benefits, and Community Partnerships.
3. VHPD- Primary Responsibilities Conduct outreach to locate eligible veterans Determine eligibility based on minimum service requirement Partner with Vet Center and CoC grantee Provide information and assistance for Healthcare, benefits and financial assistance (pension and compensation) Conduct or arrange for clinical assessments 21 July 2011
