PROPOSAL REVIEW. Members of the Program Committee will review all complete proposals. Their selection
decision is final. Notification of proposal acceptance will be sent as soon as possible, and no later than
February 14, 2013.

A NOTE CONCERNING HONORARIA. The Tennessee SHRM State Conference has a tradition of using
educational conference sessions as a platform for innovation in the field of human resource management. We
look for contributors who are willing to share their expertise without expectation of payment in the spirit of
supporting, educating and networking - the purpose for which the Middle TN SHRM chapter was founded.

EACH CONCURRENT SESSION WILL LAST EITHER 60 MINUTES FOR DAYBREAK (7:30 – 8:30 AM)
AND LATE AFTERNOON (3:30 – 4:30 PM) SESSIONS, OR 75 MINUTES FOR REGULAR CONCURRENT
SESSIONS. BASED ON FINAL SELECTION PLACEMENT, WE ASK FOR FLEXIBILITY IN YOUR
PRESENTATION TIME, IF POSSIBLE.
The Selection Process. We strive to offer a balanced program of educational sessions by selecting proposals
that best fit within the framework of the conference objectives and areas of focus. Also, we provide programs
that support professional certification by ensuring all programs presented offer HRCI credit, strategic credit
preferred. As such, preference will be given to topics that qualify for HRCI strategic credit.

Practical Application. The Program Committee seeks presentations that will provide our attendees with
information that will improve their effectiveness on the job and within their organization. Sessions conducted
by practitioners and authorities in their field of expertise that include practical, immediately applicable work
tools will be given our highest preference.

Proven Speaking Ability. Preferred forms of proof of performance are DVDs, links to streaming video/audio,
letters of recommendation, and/or a summary of evaluations from a program the speaker has previously
presented. Letters of recommendation must include contact information, date, time and place of the
presentation. Evaluation summary must include a sampling of individual evaluation forms. All forms of proof
of performance will be considered.

HRCI Recertification. If your proposal is accepted and you are invited to present during the conference the
presentation overview with learning objectives and your bio will be used to submit your session for HRCI
recertification credit approval.

Your application materials will not be returned.

We expect presenters to:

   •   Work closely with the Program Committee before the conference and meet all deadlines;
   • Make no substantial changes in content, format, audio/visual needs, room set-up or number of
       presenters without prior approval of the Committee;
   •   Design and provide a visual presentation in electronic format by the date requested;
   • Recognize that this conference presentation is an opportunity to share information and is not a
       showcase for promoting the speaker’s practice, services or products, and
   • Acknowledge that the conference sessions schedule will be set and presenters assigned in accordance
       with the concurrent focus areas. As such, we will make a reasonable effort to accommodate requests
       for schedule changes until the conference brochure publication date. After that, the Conference
       committee and the speakers are committed, and no changes to the sessions schedule can be made.

In return, we will:

   • Provide a complimentary registration for one (1) to the conference, including admission to the
       exposition hall, meals and social events;
   •   Promote you as a subject matter expert to the conference attendees;
   •   Provide a scheduled opportunity for you to sign and sell your book or CD at the conference book store;
   • Grant you valuable professional exposure, and
   • Provide you with your session evaluation scores after the conference.
