Indian Mobile Initiative Purpose: Advocate for social innovations and entrepreneurship with mobile technology to inform and educate Indian Universities students to help address community needs Kyle Fisher AakritiShroff Thiago Vieira
Innovation Traditional approach to teaching students at Indian Universities are with very theoretical coursework that don’t emphasize real world applications or entrepreneurship IMI Approach Empowerstudents with a base of knowledge and skills Engagethe local community for problems and propose  	           	           creative solutions Emerge    with a design and implement it! To do this, IMI will consist of two parts - One five week course on entrepreneurship and mobile applications  - Multiple 3-day mobile and entrepreneurship workshops
Week 1: Intense Android programming boot camp Week 2: Entrepreneurship skills, generate ideas for mobile apps,    	 	  investigate community needs Week 3:Design, planning and analysis of proposed mobile application Week 4: Program! Modules to learn about specific Android capabilities 	 	  such as social networking or Google maps API Week 5: PROGRAM!!! Finish testing mobile applications, reflection and 		  look towards plans for the future Guest Lecturers: Throughout the program, will have MIT and Indian 		    faculty and industry experts give Skype or live lectures Part 1: Founder’s Journey
Part 2: What’s the excitement about? Spread the IMI gospel with four 3-Day Mobile Boot Camps 100-200 student participants at each camp Visiting different colleges all over India- Hyderabad, Mumbai,… Day 1: Android Basics Simple programs, resources for developers, getting started Day 2: Get Ideas for an application Break into groups of 20 and look for problems in the community Break into smaller groups of 4 and come up with creative solutions Day 3: Present Ideas, stay connected Discuss design, implementation and business strategies Stay connected with other students, community and business mentors
