at the Otago Polytechnic
This occupation shapes my
identity as it apart of who I am
at present. It is how I spend
most of my time and is one of
the main things I would mention
when asked what it is I do.

Dunedin
Being a student living in
Dunedin shapes my
occupational identity as
things people may
associate with being a
Dunedin student such as
Hyde street party, Couch
burning, cold flats and
the Zoo stand at the
stadium are also
associated with me due
to the stereotype. This
stereotype shapes my
occupational identity
weather or not I am
involved in these
activities.
4. Spending time with my family
The occupation of spending time with my family shapes my identity as I shows that they are an
important factor in my life and also to me as an individual.
5. Spending time with

Spending time with
Josh shapes my
occupational identity
as it also shapes the
person I am today.
While engaging in
this occupation, the
occupation of hunting
is almost always
exercised and carried
out as it is one thing
we enjoy
participating in
together.
6. Hunting
This occupation is newly learnt yet it has already had a huge impact on me as an individual and
my identity. Learning the rules and regulations around handling firearms has influenced my
identity as now I am more conscious when around them as I am aware of the dangers.
7. Rowing
This occupation has influenced my identity in a huge was as I engaged in it for 5 years. It is the
reason behind my determination and thrill for working in a team. It also shaped my identity
physically as it kept me fit and strong.
8. Netball
This occupation has shaped my identity as it is something I am known for. As I have participated
in this for thirteen years it has helped me to learn important skills not only around the game but
also around teamwork.
9. Skiing
This occupation shapes my identity as it is also something I am known for having skill in. It is an
occupation I have engaged in for many years which as allowed me to feel enjoyment and also a
sense of accomplishment.
10. Kick Boxing
This occupation is something which I have only just begun to engage in yet it has already begun
to shape my occupational identity. It has allowed me to learn self defence skills which I will be
able to carry with me evverywhere I go.
11. Becoming an Occupational Therapist
In the future I hope to engage in this occupation . At the current time I am engaging in steps
such as studying at the polytechnic and living in Dunedin which will help me to achieve this goal.
