seen as being special in some way. There are
lots of different sets of rules that say what this
‘special’ element is, mainly because there are
many different organisations that give out
book awards for different reasons.
This presentation will give you an outline of
some of the book awards that are given out in
Australia and what makes each award special.
4. How do we choose which books to put
on our wall?
The library staff read a lot of the books that are
given awards each year. From all of the books
they read, they choose ones that they think you
will enjoy reading, and they get put up onto our
Book Award Wall!
All of the teachers are able to suggest books that
have received awards as well. If you would like to
suggest a book, have a look through the award
websites (or ask us for a suggestion), read
something you like the look of and suggest it!
