      • Sean went to Library Camp in Darien
      • We both went to Ann Arbor’s Library Camp
      • Decided to do ACPL Library Camp in 2008
      • Repeated in 2009
      • Have the go-ahead for 2010
    4. Unconference format
      • According to Wikipedia: An unconference is a facilitated, participant-driven conference centered around a theme or purpose. The term "unconference" has been applied, or self-applied, to a wide range of gatherings that try to avoid one or more aspects of a conventional conference, such as high fees and sponsored presentations.

      • pecha kucha approach to offer a lot of presentations by different speakers
      • one featured, paid speaker
      • in the future, try speed-geeking
      • encourage casual dress
      • we do not charge a fee to come
    6. Offer Library Education Units
      • all three in the morning so people who can only attend half-day get credit

    7. Organize with a wiki
      • Use whatever wiki you like
      • We use PBWorks but were surprised when they started charging. Shop around for best.
      • Make it public so everyone can see how it develops
      • Give anyone who wants to attend writer privileges so they can add to the wiki
      • Encourage people to add their information. It’s one more step towards technology competency
      • Have a contact person
      • Put schedule for the Unconference out as soon as possible

      • assign staff to help out with breakfast

      • send out reminder e-mails with parking instructions
      • give assigned person:
        • head count for breakfast and for ordering folders

      • give assigned people a list of everything to go into packets

      • get as many surge protectors and extension cords as possible
      • set up gaming area
      • set up stage for backchannel, speaker and Ustream
    30. Morning of Library Camp
      • take breakfast stuff to eating area
      • take boxes of t-shirts (if we have some) to speaker area
    31. The day after Library Camp
      • send out a tweet thanking people for coming
      • write down follow-up notes in wiki while everything’s still fresh in your mind
      • link presentations in wiki and ask presenters to link theirs
      • send out LEU certificates that campers didn't pick up
      • write thank-you to speaker
