Since launching his dance studio – Lafayette Salsa Dance Studio - in 2010, Matthew David Parker has positioned himself as the go-to instructor for those interested in learning to dance. Matthew David Parker earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Louisiana State University in 2009. In addition to dancing, he enjoys traveling, fishing and spending time with his family. He is a husband, father to two boys and lives with his family in a quaint colonial house in Lafayette.

of its kind. Matthew David Parker earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Louisiana State
University in 2009, and went on to found his own studio a year later, in 2010.

special dancing techniques in his trainings
that have made his instruction so famous.
He has utilized the variation of salsa style
and mastered them all. In 2009, he
received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from
Louisiana State University in Baton
Rouge. He then launched his own dance
studio, Lafayette Salsa Dance Studio in
2010.

the Lafayette community as the city’s
salsa instructor. The desire for a social
context in which people would interact
and create a sense of social cohesion is
what drove him to start the Lafayette
Salsa Dance Studio.

business, he strives to be successful in every
segment of life. He has a happy family life with
his wife and two sons. His busy schedule has
never kept him from giving the deserved time to
his family. In addition to working 6 days per
week, he has also found a love for traveling and
fishing.
