2. Krana/ A type of cranberries
• They are produced in Pindos.
• Cranberries are a group of evergreen dwarf shrubs. The
fruit are the tastiest of the forest.
• They are rich in iron (Fe), vitamin C (103 mg/100 g),
Ascorbic acid (48-73 mg/100 g (more than strawberries,
oranges and Kiwi), carotene and tannins.
• They are used as a treatment of urinary tract infections,
against diarrhea and intestinal disorders.
3. • The fruits are used to make sweets ,
marmalades and liqueurs.
• They are one of basic foods of brown
bears which live the region of Pindos.
