3. It has been my greatest pleasure to organize the initial structure of this cinematic project. I had a
vision of an endeavor that would not only entertain, but also inform. And thus, MOSTRA: Brazilian
Film Series was created. MOSTRA brings a diverse Brazil to America and has already become a
valuable asset to our cross cultural relationship.
MOSTRA: Brazilian Film Series intends to promote a greater understanding of the Brazilian culture,
politics, history and its social issues through film. Discussions with renowned Brazilian filmmakers,
film critics, professors and experts in previous MOSTRAs, have proven to be an educational,
interactive and unforgettable experience for all who participate.
Last year (2014) we celebrate our 5th Anniversary with great success and now, we embark in the
preparation of our 6th, planning another very special edition. For this reason we invite you to
consider coming on board and sharing the opportunity of creating a mutually rewarding relationship
with a US/Brazil non-profit organization and to experience this yearโs adventure while discovering
the inside of Brazilian life. In doing so, you are also helping others learn about what makes the fifth
largest country in the world such a fascinating place.
I look forward to meeting with you to discuss how we can work together in order to reach our goals
of promoting educational and cultural knowledge of Brazil through film. Film is culture; culture is
understanding; understanding opens minds. We hope you join us in this wonderful experience.
Sincerely,
Ariani A.G. Friedl
