2. Difference between child work and child labour
The UNICEF makes a distinction between these two terms. They say child
work is not bad, when that work is supervised by an adult, the work time
isn’t excessive and if the work has no risk.
Child labour is based on full time work, which can cause psychological and
physical stress, inadequate salary or not having the chance to study
because of that work.
3. Laws concerning age, hours and types of work
8 million children between the age of 5-17 are obligated to work for 50-65 hours a
week for a very low salary to help their families. Without those salaries those
families wouldn’t survive.
Boys: usually work at hard-working jobs like labourers and in boring monotone
works like shoe making.
Girls: usually work in “hidden” child labours, for example as house cleaners, but a
lot are also forced into prostitution.
