About This Opportunity
Develop big ideas, graphic concepts and technical designs that achieve Target's overall product strategy, quality and financial
objectives. Create profitable, exclusive, owned-brand merchandise and manage designer partnerships for one of the nation's most
respected retailers.
Develops and executes the technical development process that ensures product adherence to defined quality standards established
for specific Target owned brands. Under the overall direction of the Lead or Senior designer, interprets designer's concepts and
ushers product through its development lifecycle and provides technical product guidance to Design, Sourcing and Merchant
Teams.

Provide technical expertise to merchants during line development on the product dimension and construction specification
for all owned brand merchandise
Work with Product Managers, Merchants, Design, and Trend, to develop cost effective product consistent with appropriate
brand positioning while recommending any improvements to quality and construction
Provide manufacturer with thorough and accurate dimension and construction specifications. This includes: creative
technical drawings, and recommending construction and seam enhancements
Communicate with manufacturer and troubleshoots to resolve issues pertaining to manufacturer limitations
Develop relationships with vendors' technical staffs to expedite construction problems during development or production
Work with Designer and Trend to ensure trends are interpreted properly in the production of owned label products
Requirements
4-year Degree in Manufacturing Management/Design
At least 5-7 years in a product development role (manufacturing/retail) with working knowledge of basic costing principles
and their applications to product design
Experience in writing of product technical specifications and product evaluation
Ability to apply manufacturing construction techniques
Strong organizational and problem solving skills
Self-motivated, team player with strong communication skills
