    3. ICCHP 2008 The CESyA is the spanish center for accessibility in communication, dependent on the Royal Board on Disability – Ministry of Education, Social Politics and Sport. It has been created in order to promote a wider accessibility in communication through services like subtitling and audio description and it's managed by Carlos III University.

      • OBJECTIVES: Technological solutions in media portable, accessible, positioning system, and universal access.
      • CONSORTIUM: R&D project of the Spanish Ministry of Industry carried out by Dos de Mayo Ltd., the firm that leads the team integrated by CESyA-Carlos III University of Madrid, CNSE Foundation, ONCE Foundation and the General Directorate of Museums and Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture of Spain.
      • Initial scenario: Costume Museum of Madrid.

          • Audio Guides (only audio, not accesible)‏
          • Guides (SL, Caption-> people audio disability): Louvre Museum, Tate Modern, Guggenheim (Bilbao), Reina Sofía (Madrid), etc.

      • Interaction with the guide:
        • Positioning system helps user to knows its phisical position in the museum and it is used as a way to give a quick link to the artworks you have in front of you.
      • In the museum setting:
        • Personeel should be trained, and elecronic guides must be conveniently advertised, so people with disabilites know that there is a system that they can use.

      • CONCLUSIONS:
      • Proposal for the requirements to apply in the design of a multimedia guide in the context of museums.
      • Accessibility mecanisms based on standards, norms, research and user experience.
      • Can be apllied to other contexts that involved the use of multimedia guides.
      • FUTURE WORK:
      • Iterative process : permanent validation of the requirements during all the process.
      • Expert report : document with recommendations and best practices for including accessibility requirements in Virtual Guides in the museum domain.
