Linda Crane gave a 2 hour lecture to over 60 music students about creating a wiki for incoming first year students that demonstrated wikis should include more than just content. She emphasized that wikis also need structure, navigation, and visuals like font, underlining, color, and illustrations to maximize information retrieval and create relationships between information. While designing wikis can be challenging, the lecture provided good feedback and results, and as wikis become more popular librarians may be asked to do more wiki design projects in the future.
