Websites: An end of an era?

• When most people ask me whether its an end of an era for
  websites, typically my answer is yes! Organization should not
  invest lots of money on developing a website with multiple
  components that don’t matter.

• However your web presence should complement your online
  digital strategy… personally I recommend wordpress. This
  presentation will outline the importance of having a website,
  and how you can do it easily and efficiently.
Wordpress beyond the Blogosphere
• When post people refer to wordpress they automatically
  recognize the platform as the number 1 blogging platform out
  there, yet there are many reasons you should consider it as a
  CMS (Content Management System) for your website:
     – Wordpress is SEO Friendly
     – Wordpress has amazing themes that you can customize starting as
       little as $50
     – Wordpress is self-publishing, create multiple authors, and start
       publishing immediately
     – Getting a professional software engineer to do your first time setup

• As per the infamous saying “Content is King” and that applies
  to your website content as much as it does to your social
  media communities and blog. Here are a few tips about
  writing your content:
   – Grab Attention – Forget flash intro’s and clutter – keep it clean and
     eye catching
   – Make it Scan-able – No one reads lengthy text – keep it short and
     straight to the point
   – Make it Original – Copy/pasting your content will harm your SEO
     ranking – write your own, readers will find you, search engine's will
     love you
   – Engage with your Readers – Being online now adays is about
     communication! Allow your users to share your posts on social media
     platforms and to leave comments on your website.
