The respiratory system allows us to breathe in oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide. It includes the nose, which filters and warms air, the pharynx which carries air into the windpipe, and the epiglottis which prevents food from entering the lungs. The larynx houses the vocal cords which produce sounds, and the trachea carries air to the bronchial tree and lungs where gas exchange occurs.

4. Pharynx muscle tube carries air into wind pipe

5. Epiglottis keeps out of the lungs keeps food out of the voice box(larynx)

6. Larynx(voice box) sits on top of the wind pipe made out of cartilage

7. Vocal chord make the sounds when we talk, cough, or sing folds of lining membrane

8. Trachea(wind pipe) takes air form vocal chords to lungs has ribs of cartilage

9. Bronchial Tree takes air to bottom of lungs tree branches
