It was a momentous moment and a
milestone for U Mobile when we
launched our 4G LTE services to
consumers in strategic areas within
the Klang Valley and Johor Bahru,
giving them the opportunity to enjoy
high-speed internet services while
surfing the web and staying connected
with their friends and family. We also
inked a Disaster Recovery (DR)
partnership with ZTE Corporation in
the presence of our Prime Minister
and the President of China; promising
stable, resilient and robust network
services to U Mobile users.
To enable more customers to enjoy
our products and services, we expanded
our reach to East Malaysia, namely
Kuching and Kota Kinabalu, through
the opening of two new U Mobile
stores within the region. Now more
people can enjoy the benefits of being
a U Mobile subscriber, along with the
quality services we provide at the
best market rates.
Being an emerging player in the market,
it is natural for us to show support to
emerging and aspiring talents who
strive to achieve greater heights.
We sponsored the local singing
competition, ‘Pop Star’ for the third
time, and it is great to hear how the
winners are making our country
proud in the international arena.
We also celebrate our sponsorship
for Cardiff City Football Club as they
strive to score great achievements in
the Barclays Premier League by
bringing the excitement closer to our
customers as a way to reward them
for their endless support for the brand.
2014 will be an equally exciting and

4th October 2013 – U Mobile appoints ZTE Corporation to deploy a Disaster Recovery (DR)
system for U Mobile’s core network; providing stable, resilient and robust network services
to U Mobile users. This was officiated in the presence of the Prime Minister of Malaysia and
the President of the People’s Republic of China.
President Xi Jinping, who was in town for a 3-day diplomatic visit to Malaysia as part of his
Southeast Asia tour, and Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Mohd. Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak graced
the signing ceremony as witnesses of the partnership agreement between U Mobile and ZTE
Corporation, both dynamic entities in their respective countries, in the spirit of fostering good
bilateral ties and exploring economic opportunities between the two nations.

LOWEST UNLIMITED
INTERNET ROAMING RATES
1st November 2013 – U Mobile postpaid customers can now rejoice with the ability to stay connected with their
friends, family, colleagues and business partners with the market’s lowest unlimited internet roaming rates as
they travel to Singapore, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. This service has been extended to Philippines, Indonesia
and Thailand beginning 1st December 2013.
U Mobile has partnered with Unicom (China), PCCW
(Hong Kong), Taiwan Mobile (Taiwan), StarHub
(Singapore), True (Thailand), Telkomsel (Indonesia)
and Globe (Philippines)as roaming partners. Should
users choose to roam with other operators, the
standard Pay As You Use (PAYU) rates will apply.
This special rate of RM30 per day is only valid
until 31 October 2014.
With a maximum rate of only RM30 per day,
customers can now travel worry-free as they
enjoy unlimited internet when they are abroad.
Frequent travelers can also bid farewell to
tedious manual setup procedures as U Mobile
postpaid plan subscribers will beautomatically
promptedvia SMS upon arrival at the
mentioned destinations to roam with
preferred roaming partners in each region.

The ‘Road To Cardiff’ Contest, which ended on 29th
October 2013, gave U Mobile prepaid subscribers
a chance to watch a Barclays Premier League (BPL)
match live at Cardiff City Stadium.
Organized in conjunction with U Mobile as the official
Malaysian telecommunications partner for Cardiff City FC,
our prepaid subscribers stood a chance to win tickets
for two to watch the Cardiff City FC vs. Manchester United
match LIVE by simply topping up RM30 or more.
The two lucky winners were Mr. Tan Sin Hong from
Penang and Mr. Lee Chian Hong from Ipoh. Both emerged
as top scorers among thousands of other participants,
and won an all-expense-paid trip for two to Cardiff City
each. It was a dream come true for both winners and
they were very happy to be given this once-in-a-lifetime
opportunity to watch a LIVE BPL football match.

football match LIVE in Cardiff City Stadium, supporters of Cardiff
City FC and Manchester United in Klang Valley had the chance

Tengok Bola LIVE‘ Party held at The Boulevard, Berjaya Times
Square on 24th November 2013. The thrilling match between
Cardiff City FC and Manchester United ended with a 2-2 draw, much
to the delight of fans from both clubs.
Besides being treated to a delectable feast, guests also had the
opportunity to win cool prizes such as a brand new Samsung
GALAXY S4, Nintendo Wii and Sony Playstation 3 through lucky
draws and games.

Despite the scorching heat, camaraderie was in the air as participants took to the lush green fairways
of the Mango and Pines nines for some good-natured competition. Spicing up the challenge was the
hole-in-one prize on offer, a Mazda 3 Hatchback, which went unclaimed.

Daniel Cheah Chee Lik wooed the

9 other finalists and was declared the
winner of Pop Star 2013 during the
grand finale held at HGH Convention
Centre Kuala Lumpur. The win qualifies
him to represent Malaysia to compete
in the One Million Star singing
competition in Taiwan – one of the
Chinese music industry’s most popular
talent searches. Joseph Kan Chok Chen
and Wandy Koay Xin Yi, both from
Johor Bahru, were named 1st runner-up
and 2nd runner-up respectively.

Most of us are on a data plan, which allocates a fixed amount of data we can use every month.
Depending on how much you are willing to pay, you are allotted a limited amount of data, and
charged extra should you exceed that limit. Sometimes, your phone may be using data through
apps without your knowledge and you can end up with a whopping bill. In these instances,
you might want to just switch off the data on your smartphone. Read on to find out how.
HOW TO SAVE BYSWITCHING
OFF MOBILEDATA
Android phones
Find “Settings” (in your App Drawer)
and select “Data usage”. From here,
un-check “Mobile data” to turn it off.
You also have the option to “Set mobile
data limit” by checking the box and
sliding the red line to match your data
plan. Your Android will automatically
stop using mobile data if it reaches
the limit. Also, if you click the additional
options buttons (three squares), you
will also find the option to turn off your
“Data roaming” by un-checking the box.
