2. The markets closed slightly up today. Sensex close up 49.10 gains 0.24% and
the Nifty close up 21.50 gains 0.36%, as blue chips such as Tata Motors recovered on
value-buying after the index had fallen in seven out of eight previous sessions to mark its
lowest in nearly four months. Nifty took support at its 200-day moving average for a
second consecutive day. Tata Steel closed with a gain of 5 percent, while other gainers
in the Sensex were Tata Motors, M&M, Coal India & NTPC. TCS closed 2.1% up today.
