SocratesPremiumWordPressThemeReview
Spend money for the Socrates Premium WordPress Theme? Why? Isn’t there already something like a billion free
themes out there that would work just as well? That depends on what you mean by ‘just as well‘. Yes, there are
about a billion free themes out there and just about all of them will work just fine for any blog. But the creators
of Socrates didn’t settle for ‘just as well‘. They designed a theme that delivers results.
Internet marketers have
already seen proof that
WordPress is the best
blogging platform out there.
It’s user friendly, it’s flexible and versatile, it’s easy to customize and, most important, the search engines love it.
So using WordPress is already a given. The question is – what makes Socrates different from all the rest?
First, let’s take 98% of the other themes completely off the table. You can say what you want about free themes
and saving money but when it comes right down to it, you never know what you’re getting with a freebie.
Even if you download it directly from your WP dash, you still don’t have a clue about the quality of the design.
I’ve set up several blogs on free themes and about 6 months down the road, after you get them loaded up with
content, they either start dragging or they just flat out crash and that’s just too much risk to take.
Now, let’s take a look at other premium themes, namely Thesis and FlexSqueeze. I’ve used both. Thesis makes
two claims – it’s better for SEO and it’s completely customizable, on the dash, no coding required. The price? Last
time I looked it was around $87/$164 for a single/multiple domains.
First, Thesis is more appealing to the search engines than a lot of the free junk themes you can download but it’s
not necessarily the best on the market. In the past, maybe, but I know of one or two free themes that can beat it.
Second, yeah, there’s a huge learning curve involved in customizing Thesis and most folks outsource it because
it’s just too involved to mess with. If you’re going to pay for a theme you’re supposed to be able to customize you
shouldn’t have to pay someone to do it for you.
FlexSqueeze is another option. For $127 you get all the same promises you get from Thesis, plus you get a few
sales pages and graphics. Granted, if you’ve got the technical know-how you can design sales pages in Thesis, too,
but it’s much easier to do with Flex. However, there’s that little matter of price. And again, there’s a learning
curve which might force you to outsource your design, which adds even more to the cost.
Now I don’t know about you, but I spend a good deal of time checking out competing blogs and I can recognize a
Thesis or FlexSqueeze blog with my eyes closed. Well, maybe not completely closed. But all I need is a glimpse
and I’ve got it nailed. Personally, I find both themes a little boring and bland, even if they have been put together
by professional designers. And I sure as heck don’t want my blogs looking like every other blog on the Web.
More important, if you have to put all that effort into designing both of these themes, what’s that doing to the
internal coding? The coding that’s supposed to make these two themes so attractive for the search engines?
OK, now let’s talk about Socrates. First, the price. At just $47 for a single domain it’s a bargain compared to the
other premium themes. And $77 for unlimited domains should be illegal.
But here’s where the Socrates Premium WordPress Theme raises the bar – it was designed for affiliate marketers.
You get more than 230 niche header designs. Take your pick, click a button, and you’re done. You get
backgrounds – again, click a button and you’re done. You can literally set up any niche blog in about 3 minutes.
But that’s not the best part. Go to the dash and plug in your Adsense codes, your Clickbank ID, your banner codes,
your social media links, all in-post ad units, – you can literally design your whole blog from the dash just by
copying and pasting everything into the appropriate box and clicking save.
The Socrates Premium WordPress Theme even has sales page templates, a page template with no sidebars and a
squeeze page template and yes, everything is SEO friendly. With an active, friendly community forum you’ll find
all the tips and tricks you need. The only thing you won’t find? All the complaining you’ll find on the Thesis and
FlexSqueeze forums!
