would be like if you were a royal? Like what would

will tell you about Medieval Life as a princess from
the noble realm.

Medieval people lived in a community called a
manor. The land belonged to
Nobles, Lords, Ladies, Rulers, Knights and the
Church. The land was farmed by Peasants. Nobles
gave Peasants protection and enough land to grow
food which are called dues. Majority of Medieval
people’s lived in small villages around the
countryside usually beside the castle. Nobles home is
known as a manor house. People on the manor grew
and made almost anything they needed by hand.

The manor had a church, yard and vegetable
garden, field planted in spring, field planted in late
summer, meadow, stable, manor
house, forest, fallow field mill, village and a fish
pond. They had to work together for
food, livestock, buildshelter, clothing and tools.

The peasants did all the work. Nobles settled
disagreements, protection and justice. Nobles lived
in the manor house. The was manor
house, large, well constructed wood or stone. The
manor house had many rooms and windows.

They eat, slept and worked together. Nobles had private
rooms to spend time with the family.
The lords duties was to defend the manor against attack.
The Lord also acted as a judge in manorial court. He
supervised and mill, animals and buildings.
He also train battle and helped others train. He also fights
for the king and he would pay the dues. He would go to
the kings court. The lord and the lady were married. The
ladies duties was to supervise activities of servants
kitchen, bake house, brew house, larder and clothing
making.

Her other duties were too keep house hold accounts, and
too buy special items wine, salt, spices and silk, also to
make guests welcome. Peasants the biggest number of
medieval people were peasants. They had simple, small
houses, made of local materials like wood timbers and
branches of reeds. The whole family lived together in 1 or
2 rooms. They did all the
planting, ploughing, weeding, harvesting, binding
hay, caring for animals and sheep shearing. They owed
nobles 3 days of work a week extra work at harvest time.

They had to pay dues to noble. Most dues were
payments like hens, eggs, cloth and repair work on manor
buildings or roads. They ate simple foods like
breads, porridge, cheese, eggs, little pork and vegetables.
The people who could afford it drank ale. The clergy. The
manor had a church and a priest. The priest had church
services and prayed for sick people. They had burials and
weddings. The priest had a house and a small piece of
land. Society. The period in history called the middle ages
stretched from 500 A.D. it was in western Europe .
