5. "Podcasting is about reading, writing, and speaking. It is a simple technology that fits our curriculum goals. Podcasting also provides our students with an authentic audience for their productions. Podcasting is more than just recording audio files. It is also about broadcasting." Jim Wenzloff, educational consultant 2006 I thought the podcast was fantastic. Being able to hear myself on the podcast was wicked. I liked being able to plan out what we were going to do. I also liked recording and choosing the music. It was the best because I improved my speaking . Yr 7 pupil, 2006
8. Nodehill French Grammar Podcasts on iTunes I have just listened to the preposition podcast, fantastic! What a great idea. I am currently working with my students on writing "The Perfect Tense for Dummies" and this is another idea to use... Well done to Yasmine and Eleanor, tell them they will be famous in Suffolk this afternoon for a Year 6 French lesson (prep school).
13. Podcasting for the struggling reader "Because they were able to hear themselves read, they realised what they were and weren't doing. When it's just a teacher telling them, "Read like this", "Pause at the periods" or "You need to add more expression", "Read it like this" and they are just trying to copy it, they have no sense of what they are trying to see. So, by recording their reading, it made it visible for students. Their reading behaviour became visible to them and then they were conscious and aware of it and able to change it".
