                          Lesson Plan for Primary Music
Ms. Joan Hope R. Elgincolin                                 Date: 22-26th Nov. ’10 (Boys)

G1-Piano                                                    Week: 3 (Music Theory) and 4 (Piano)

Topic: “Old McDonald”                                       Resources: Group Piano 1

Lesson Step:

    1. Singing
    2. Review the note values:
                whole note (4 counts)
                half note (2 counts)
                quarter note (1 count)
    3. Review the stems:
                Up stem- use right hand (R.H)
                Down stem-use left hand (L.H)
    4. Activity:
           a. The teacher will show flash cards of different notes.
           b. The students will clap according to what kind of note the flash card shows.
    5. Piano Time:
           a. Finger exercises for combining right and left hand
           b. The teacher will demonstrate how to play “Old McDonald”
           c. Students will play the song individually, by group, and as a class.

Learning Outcomes:

At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:

    1. Review the note values
    2. Master when to use their right and left hand
    3. Learn and play the song “Old McDonald”
