REPTILES Some curiosities about a very interesting animal group: Leyre Sánchez de Muniáin

[object Object],lizard When the lizard is in danger, voluntarily, it cuts its tail, which convulses and shakes distracting a predator as she slips away. Then, its tail grows again!

[object Object],Many people consider it the first reptile pet. The Iguana is in many homes around the world. The Green Iguana is the most used reptile as pet in countries of Europe and North America

chameleon The chameleon is a very especial reptile: it changes colour depending on its state of encouragement. For example: if it is angry, its body becomes red.

[object Object],crocodile It is a very dangerous animal. Each jaw of the crocodile has 24 sharp teeth, which enable it to tear and shred but not chewing.

[object Object],Most reptiles have four legs. The snake doesn´t. It moves by crawling because it has a long body covered, like all reptiles, by scales.

[object Object],Most reptiles have no body covering, but the terrestial turtle is an exception. It has a hard shell on its back.
