如果恐懼令你只願尋求愛情的平靜和歡樂,

那麼你最好遮掩你的赤裸,
愛不擁有任何事物,
走出愛情的打穀場,
也不被任何事物擁有,
進入沒有季節變化的世界.
因為在愛當中,愛已完滿

在那兒你將歡笑,但無法盡興;

5. 但是在你們聚處中也留些空間吧
讓天堂的和風在你們之間舞動
彼此相愛,但不要有愛的束縛:

But let there be spaces in your togetherness

Love one another,but make not a bond of love;
6. 讓愛像你倆靈魂的岸間流動的海水
斟滿彼此的杯子,但不要同飲一杯
彼此分享麵包,但不要同吃一塊

Fill each others cup but drink not form one cup.
Give one another of your bread but eat not form

7. 一起唱歌舞蹈,歡歡喜喜,但要各自獨處,

Sing and dance together and be joyous,

8. 奉獻你的心,但不要交由對方保管
因為唯有生命之手才能包容你的心
你們要站在一起,但不要靠得太近:
神殿的柱子各自聳立,
如同橡樹和柏樹無法在彼此的陰影下成長

Give your hearts,but not into each others keeping
For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts
And stand together yet not too near together:
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each
others shadow
