  6. 6. 1. God’s Instruction in Worship <ul><li>Vs. 18 - On that day Gad went to David and said to him, “Go up and build an altar to the LORD on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.” </li></ul>
  7. 7. <ul><li>= How Has the Worship of God Been Carried on in Principle? </li></ul><ul><li>(1) God Reveals Him as the Object of Our Worship </li></ul><ul><li>Vs. 18 - On that day Gad went to David and said to him, “Go up and build an altar to the LORD on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.” </li></ul>

  9. 9. <ul><li>= How has God Continually Revealed The Way of Worship in History? </li></ul><ul><li>(1) Altar </li></ul><ul><li>Gen 8:20 - Then Noah built an altar to the LORD and, taking some of all the clean animals and clean birds, he sacrificed burnt offerings on it. </li></ul>

  13. 13. <ul><li>= How was David Instructed by God in the Matter of Worship? </li></ul><ul><li>Vs. 21 - Araunah said, “Why has my lord the king come to his servant?” “ To buy your threshing floor,” David answered, “so I can build an altar to the LORD , that the plague on the people may be stopped.” </li></ul>

Withdraw your hand.” The angel of the LORD was then at the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite. </li></ul>

And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything , because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else. </li></ul>
  40. 40. <ul><li>(2) God is Genuine-Hearted </li></ul><ul><li>Ps 51:16-17 - You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart , O God, you will not despise. </li></ul>
