You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil—the commander of the powers in the unseen wor ld. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. </li></ul>

  22. 22. <ul><li>Philippians 4:2-3 - Now I appeal to Euodia and Syntyche. Please, because you belong to the Lord, settle your disagreement. And I ask you, my true partner, to help these two women, for they worked hard with me in telling others the Good News. </li></ul>
  23. 23. <ul><li>(3) People are Maturing </li></ul><ul><li>Ephesians 4:13 - This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. </li></ul>

  39. 39. <ul><li>Vs. 2-3 - It would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the word of God in order to wait on tables . Brothers, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them. </li></ul>
  40. 40. <ul><li>Vs. 5 - This proposal pleased the whole group. They chose Stephen , a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit; also Philip , Procorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas from Antioch, a convert to Judaism. </li></ul>
  41. 41. <ul><li>A Case Study of Stephen </li></ul><ul><li>Acts 6:8 - Now Stephen, a man full of God’s grace and power, did great wonders and miraculous signs among the people. </li></ul>
  42. 42. <ul><li>Acts 6:9-10 - Opposition arose, however, from members of the Synagogue of the Freedmen - Jews of Cyrene and Alexandria as well as the provinces of Cilicia and Asia. These men began to argue with Stephen, but they could not stand up against his wisdom or the Spirit by whom he spoke. </li></ul>

  44. 44. <ul><li>miraculous signs he did, they all paid close attention to what he said. With shrieks, evil spirits came out of many, and many paralytics and cripples were healed . So there was great joy in that city. </li></ul>
  45. 45. <ul><li>Acts 8:38 - And he gave orders to stop the chariot. Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water and Philip baptized him. </li></ul>
