  • gmackellar Geoffrey Mackellar Hi Thierry, Fantastic publication. Note that at slide 30 - this is NOT and 'admission' but a simple statement. Muscle artefacts are a fact of life in any EEG system. At Emotiv we decided to take advantage of them and apply our methods to localise active muscle groups and combine this into detecting facial expressions. On the other hand, Affectiv (emotional) and Cognitiv (BCI) suites use pure brain signals. To be precise: we don't use facial expression or muscle artefact data to derive mental states or emotions, they are too easy to trick! Geoff = gmac 8 months ago
